Here is our most sincere Christmas tree and all the gifts we received. Our Chirstmas and New Years activities were as follows:
We had a breakfast for all temple missionaries and the Temple Presidency (we have to keep the tradition going). Here we are at the white elephant gift exchange.
We Skyped with the kids that evening (morning there) as they had their Chirstmas Eve breakfast. We just had a relaxing day after that.
On Chirstmas day, we went to church in Tsakane Branch with the sisters (the two in the front in the lower right picture above). Dad drives their car to the branch. We only had Sacrament Meeting and we spoke.
We went to the Birds for dinner on Christmas day. Everyone brought something. It was very nice.
Again, we just relaxed the rest of the day.
The temple was only open Wedensday-Friday. We went to the Family History Center for five hours on Tuesday to help the partons get their materials ready. We then saw them in the temple on Wednesday and Thursday.
New Year's Eve we went shopping at the mall for groceries. Mom made meat and vegetable lasagne for our dinner at the Browns. We had to go back and get some things we forgot.
There were four couples and a sister besides us at the dinner. We ate and then watched the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Program for 2010 with David Archuleta. Mike had his secretary give it to her niece, who came to South Africa and visited with President and Sister Relend. Sister Renlend is Mike's secretary's sister. She delivered Mike's package to the temple and gave it to dad personally. Everyone left shortly after 9:00 pm. Dad was very tired and we had prayers, then dad went to bed. Dad felt bad he didn't stay up and give mom a Happy new Year's kiss at midnight.
We went to church and Tsakane Branch on New Year's Day. The sisters were out of town, but they left us their car. Sister Keuning went with us. We had Sacrament Meeting and then Sunday School, but they sent us all home after that.
